B&W - Thomas Hill weld test at Local 83 12/16-12/17 SIGN-UP

B&W will be weld testing at Local 83 for the upcoming outage at Thomas Hill Tuesday and Wednesday, December 16-17, 2025. This weld test will be site specific, so having Common Arc certs with them will not get you the certifications that will be needed. The weld test will consist of a 6" heavy wall coupon. With a 400 degree preheat & back purge using GTAW process with ER90S-B2 wire for the root pass & hot pass. After the root pass inspection, you then will use FCAW for the fill and cap. The coupon will be divided in half using welder ID numbers allowing the contractor to certify two welders with one coupon. The Thomas Hill outage will be 6-10's with $75 day per diem with no mileage restrictions for 6 to 7 months. If you successfully pass the weld test and get on the job you will be compensated 4 hours weld test time. Please note just because you pass a weld test with this contractor, it does not guarantee you a spot on this site.
