International News Flash
Dear Boilermaker Members,
As you may know, proposed EPA regulations governing new coal-fired power plants are so restrictive they would require carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. But this technology is prohibitively expensive, it has not been adequately tested, and it is not even in use on a commercial scale.
This rule is preventing even the cleanest, most advanced new coal-fired plants from being built in the United States. The rule is costing Boilermakers thousands of man-hours of work, killing jobs for union coal miners and others in coal-dependent businesses, raising electricity rates for consumers; and undermining the reliability of our energy systems.
We are joining with other groups to sign a petition urging EPA to change course. Please make your voice heard. Take just a few seconds to sign our petition.
TELL EPA THIS RULE WILL DESTROY GOOD-PAYING AMERICAN JOBS -- NOT CREATE THEM.
You may sign the petition at:

Deadline to sign is Monday, March 10, 2014.
Please share these links widely and ask your family, friends and neighbors to sign the petition!
In Solidarity,
Boilermakers Department of Government Affairs
