    Boilermakers Local 83 has endorsed Brad Ashford in the race for Nebraska’s Second District seat in the U.S. Congress.
    Scot Albertson, business manager of Boilermakers Local #83 and president of the Omaha and Southwest Iowa Building and Construction Trades Council said the endorsement came during the union’s meeting earlier this month.
    Albertson said the reason for the endorsement was simple.
    “He’s in touch with Middle Class America and focused on putting them first,” Albertson said. “We’re supporting Brad and I’ll do whatever I can to put him back in office.”
    The Boilermakers Local 83 has about 1,150 members, Albertson said.
